SPEAKER
David Quintana
NMDOT Chief Engineer
David has over 21 years in the transportation industry, all on the public side. He began his career as an EIT going through the NMDOT EIT rotation. Once completed he settled into construction in District 4 as an assistant Project Manager for the Santa Rosa Construction office and as the Project Manager for the Las Vegas project office, both in District 4. After obtaining his PE license Mr. Quintana transitioned over to project development of the NMDOT in the North Region Design Center. Mr. Quintana was a PDE for 7 years before moving back to the operations side of NMDOT in District 5 as the Technical Support Engineer.
After several years at District 5, Mr. Quintana moved onto work with the City of Santa Fe as the roadway and drainage section supervisor. 3 years of service with the City provided good perspective of the challenges that local agencies have with respect to spending federal dollars. In 2018, Mr. Quintana moved back to NMDOT District 5 as the Assistant District Engineer for Engineering Support. In 2019, Mr. Quintana became the NMDOT Chief Engineer and has been serving that capacity for the past 3 years.
