August Learning luncheon: Enhanced Presentation design

Purpose-driven design and a strong story are what set great presentations apart. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to design presentations that not only look good—but communicate with clarity and purpose. We'll cover practical techniques for storyboarding your message, working with technical contributors, and designing slides that are clean, visual, and effective. Participants will follow along using a provided PowerPoint template as we walk through design fundamentals, visual best practices, and transition/animation tips. We'll also explore the presenter’s role— because a great presentation is 50% visuals, 50% delivery.

Bring a laptop to follow along for this interactive presentation session. Whether you’re preparing for a shortlist interview, a campaign pitch, or a client presentation, this session will help you craft presentations that engage, inform, and stand out.

Lisa Hurst is a Multimedia Designer at Bohannan Huston, where she blends a decade of experience in education with a strong creative focus on photography, video production, and graphic design. Her background as a visual arts educator informs her thoughtful, hands-on approach in creating cohesive multimedia content that’s both engaging and effective.
